John Jorgenson is an entrepreneur whose professional career includes launching, owning, and managing successful businesses since the mid-1980s. John’s highly successful track record crosses a wide variety of industries including real estate, new home construction, video production and marketing. Throughout his career, John has been on the front line with his customers, while at the same time managing his staff and company processes. His extensive and diverse experience provides him with in-depth knowledge of how to succeed in life and in business.
This knowledge, combined with a knack for building instant rapport, ease in front of audiences, and the ability to vividly communicate concepts, makes him a highly effective presenter, whether he is speaking to one customer about a new home build or an audience of hundreds about high level business related topics.
Entering the real estate business in 2004, John was quickly up to speed. He has since built a world-class administrative team and thriving practice currently generating sales approaching $50 million annually. He has captured virtually every award available at Long and Foster, America’s largest independent real estate company as part of HomeServices of America. He is also the Sales Partner for Stanley Martin Custom Homes, where he manages all marketing strategy and campaigns, as well as the customer relationship from initial contact to contract.
A consistent top producer, John’s awards include #1 Buyers Agent for Virginia and West Virginia for 2013, NVAR Multimillion Dollar Sales Club, 2008-2013, #1 New Homes Agent Virginia and West Virginia, 2008-2013, Residential Top Producer, and Lifetime Top Producer. He has ranked in the Top 5 of all Long and Foster Agents nationwide for the last 3 years. The innovative marketing and highly interactive online strategies he introduced have been widely modeled, with his website dubbed by insiders as the industry’s most interactive.
John’s entrepreneurial track record goes back to his teens and early twenties. While most young people were figuring out what they wanted to be when they grew up, he made his mark in the business world. Starting at Koons Ford as a sales trainee, he completed their phenomenal sales training program. He then took that training and applied it to launch his first business venture: Cover Up Painting, which like all his other endeavors he bootstrapped, creating a viable business that enabled him to be self-supporting. Then, as a Sales Representative at a courier company, John was the catalyst for the company’s rapid exponential growth and sevenfold capacity expansion in just one year.
In 1992, John and a business partner founded Advanced Water Damage Restoration. He and his partner grew the business from concept to a $1 million+, 24-hour operation with a seven-truck fleet, spurred by an innovative external partnership and lead generation strategies that were soon modeled by competitors.
In 1997, John again built a business from the ground up, taking his Marketing Mania marketing services firm from zero to ~$1 million in just 3 years. Their impressive client base included major companies such as Safeway and AOL, as well as government contracts with the UDSA and EPA. Undaunted by the dotcom crash that cost the company much of its client base, John executed a relentless cold calling campaign that soon rebuilt it. As an outgrowth of Marketing Mania, John founded Sonic Waves, an audio/video and website production company that not only supports John’s business ventures but provides a global clientele with high quality video and audio productions.
John is also a husband and father of twin boys. He enjoys teaching them the vast number of lessons he has learned from his life and business experiences and looks forward to sharing those same lessons with our audience on the Go With John show.
